Director / Show Proposals

The McLean Community Players is accepting DIRECTOR proposals for its 2012-13 season. Our typical schedule includes 4 productions a year (2 plays and 2 musicals), with the productions going up in Sept-Oct, Jan-Feb, Apr-May and July. Our productions run for 3 consecutive weekends, providing a total of 8 performances. All productions are performed in the Alden Theatre of the McLean Community Center.

All positions, with the exception of musicians, are unpaid and volunteer. Applications can be filled and submitted online or printed and emailed to: Info@McLeanPlayers.org with "Play Proposal" in the subject line or mailed to the MCP Artistic Committee, PO Box 160, McLean, VA, 22101.

We suggest you review our recent productions to ensure that you are not proposing a show we have done recently. Click to see an alphabetical list of our shows with dates.

Application deadline is September 30th.

MCP's Artistic Committee and/or Board of Directors will review the applications and select a pool of candidates to interview as required. Again - thank you for your interest!

Your Concept

Please provide a short synopsis of your proposed treatment of the proposed production. Include any thoughts/needs on unique technical, casting or directing elements. BE CREATIVE AND REALISTIC. If selected to interview, a more detailed explanation and overview will be required and requested. The box can contain any amount of text.

Proposed Production Team

While not a pre-requisite to submit an application, we do encourage you to list the proposed key team members, especially for musical productions. If you are asked to interview, we may ask for a more formal list. MCP will work with the final teams to fill any open positions. MCP reserves the right of final approval regarding the production team. The box can contain any amount of text.

Please provide three references of other theatre groups with which you have worked over the last five years. References will be contacted for those who are invited for interview/final consideration.
